One of the categories of SCP is to remove excuses. Under that category there are couple of techniques alert conscience and post instructions that are used widely to inform the message of Zero tolerance  of  sexual harassment any transport system including MTA in NYC. This is one of the many measures that are needed to deal with SH. Also when developing these measures one need to understand the common vogue and cultural acceptance of message to public. In NY subway especially in main stations such as 42nd street the message in the visual screens do attract split second attention of the travelers. The message in the subway cars also stand out among other ads. I have not seen any pictures to depict sexual harassment in the subway... Too much attention is also not good.

Whatsoever, when experience or witness SH, the victim should have immediate venue to report for immediate action while waiting and riding the public transport. This could be done by the help of bystanders. When developing brochures the role of bystanders need to integrated. So that there is no excuse for those bystanders to keep quite...If you look at crime triangle- one of the dimension is the absence of capable guardians in the place where offenders and victims activity converge. That is the place dimension - the place is the transport environment where the so called risky situations pop up. We think the transport authority has the place managers role to play  to safeguard but in my opinion, the self routine precautions ( only when people see the brochures and ads will alert) and the bystanders intervention ( alerting their conscience also) is crucial.

Dear TCR-Network
Yesterday I meet Erik von Essin who is responsible the situational crime prevention at County level here in Stockholm. We talked about violent crime associated with night life and he mentioned about NYPD campaign in New York. See the photo in this email.
The question about making explicit campaign is not always well received by the population – as we have discussed in previous email, when Hugo shared photos from Paris and Brussels. In Sao Paulo, the campaign generated a discussion on whether the company was dropping the responsibility to passengers to report and deal with the problem.
