Very sad to share with this network this news from Mike Scott of Arizona State that Herman Goldstein, the father of Problem-Oriented Policing and recent recipient of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology passed away this morning:

Herman Goldstein passed away peacefully and of natural causes this morning in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 88. His family was with him at the end. Funeral and other memorial details will be forthcoming from his family soon. I am sending this notice to those whom I know  were close friends and colleagues of Herman's, but I will undoubtedly not have any or current email addresses for some people, so please share this news with others whom you know would want to be notified.
