[gmx-developers] Problem with xpm2ps -combine sub option

Hi,

I was trying to test the "-combine sub" option of xpm2ps to look at the
differences of two matrices. Funnily enough the combined matrix has
weird color codes starting from the 53th entry onwards:

[..]
"; c #0404FF " /* "1.21" */,
": c #0000FF " /* "1.23" */,
"' c #FFFFFFFCFFFFFFFCFF " /* "1.25" */,
", c #FFFFFFF7FFFFFFF7FF " /* "1.28" */,
[..]

which leads (not too surprisingly) to an error

Fatal error: Unsupported or invalid colormap in X PixMap

in xpm2ps.
Was this intended ? Is there an easy fix ?

My guess is that there is need for too many colors, which probably was not
intended originally. As I use standard distance matrices (40 levels),
combining both may lead to up to 80 new levels (+40 .. -40), which is too
much ?

  Marc
