That is correct. It is actually implemented as 'the first atom
of that name up/down-stream'.

If, for example, you want to build complicated hetero-polymer 
systems, you could in principle even connect to a residue
further back - although I don't think that has been tried - or
further forward - which is even less likely to work... ;-}
