[gmx-users] to upgrade gmx

Just go to the web site, www.gromacs.org, then click on the menu item on 
the left that says "installation".  If you don't want the new installation 
to overwrite the old one, then simply change the various locations that it 
is installed in to somewhere else, such as your own home directory.  There 
are notes in those installation instructions telling which switches to use, 
I think it is --prefix that you use with ./configure
