[gmx-users] installation problem

/usr is the normal prefix for all modern RPMs, including the Gromacs  
ones.

In principle Gromacs should be relocatable (e.g. to /usr/local), but  
it's entirely unsupported and I have no idea how/if it works for  
FFTW. The alternative is to build from source, or roll your own RPMs  
(check out e.g. RedHat's documentation).
