I got this error a couple of days before. I recompiled gromacs and it did not 
occur again atm. I have no Idea what could have fixed/caused this. Do you use 
NFS? We had a couple of strange errors on NFS and consider switching to a 
cluster file system atm.

Sorry for not being able to give you a hint how to solve this...
