Just wanted to add that DDD is only a graphical interface. It can
use several debuggers (depending on which language you are
looking at), and the default for C is gdb, I think. At least
in my setup I do use DDD+gdb to debug gmx programs successfully.
..
.. if they are compiled with the -g flag :))
