If you promise not to tell anybody I said this, for once I actually think _microsoft_ of all companies came up with a good standard for this case :-)
The MS standard is apparently that 2-letter acronyms are all-capital (e.g. IO), but anything 3 letters or longer is camelcased. Might not always be super-beautiful, but it’s a simple standard that makes it trivial to remember how to write things.
