Hi Alessandra,

Perhaps more entities are scanning discourse, but the announcements
are not particularly hidden now.

Googling "gromacs zoom" has
https://mailman-1.sys.kth.se/pipermail/gromacs.org_gmx-developers/2022-March/011186.html
as the first result, which contains the link and is accessible to anyone.

In the developers category, posts on the Wedsnesday meeting (including details of the zoom room) will be set. I can not estimate if this could cause not-project-related persons mis-using the zoom information or disturbing the call. An alternative is to have the developers category visible to all the forum users (this also includes sign-in GROMACS users that do not belong to the developers group).

>> I have created a category "developers" under forums.gromacs.org (discourse forum). The category matches a mailing-list setting. The posts are visible to everybody, but only members of group GROMACS developers can post. To join the developers group, one can sign in to the forum and send a request following the instruction in the category description.

I think it is very easy to interact with it in a mailing-list style while also having useful features like attachments, formatting for code snippets, etc. Having a developer-only forum would be useful, in my opinion. It could be visible to the rest of the community but perhaps permissions can be set so that only verified developers can access it to post.
