[gmx-users] Graphics card?

For GROMACS itself there is no real special needs in terms of the graphics
card. Where that becomes important is when you are using a visualisation
program to then view the trajectory. So the best idea is to talk to the
suppliers/writers of the visualisation software that you are going to use
to find out the best option.
Personally I use VMD and have a workstation on its way with a ATI FireGL X1
256M. If you use VMD, check their emailing list, several discussions have
occurred on the types of graphics cards to use.
Scaling with the current version of GROMACS between computers is not the
best, even when high speed networks are used. So to be the most efficient
a multi CPU motherboard is the way to go.
