Hi,

There seems to be a couple of compiler problems with the latest version 
of GCC distributed by Apple. Among other things it doesn't generate 
correct code with aggressive inlining.

I've created a new tarball that fixes this at:

It also tunes for the ppc970 by default, but the binary should work on 
any ppc system.

Another issue: The beta IBM XLC compiler is very buggy for altivec 
code, so don't use it yet. GCC is almost as fast with the altivec code 
anyway...
