trjconv -f traj.trr -o trajout.gro -b #####

where ##### is the time just before the .trr runs out.  Or you can use

trjconv -f traj.trr -o trajout.gro -dump #####

where ##### is the time near the end and it will dump out a .gro file at
the frame closest to that time.
