Hi Arneh,
Yes. As you should be able to recall, the (linear, not "generalized")
correlation is formally given as:
cor(x,y) = cov(x,y) / ( sqrt(var(x))*sqrt(var(y)) )
The diagonal elements of the covariance matrix give the variances...
