Hello,

   on Friday I tried to clone the git repo for the first time, but
   unfortunately I was not successful and got following error message:

   # git clone git://gromacs.cbr.su.se/gmx-src.git
   Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/dommert/icp/develop/gromacs/gmx-src/.git/
   fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

   Though it is claimed a directory is initialized nothing happend. As
   I encountered this error I wrote a mail to the adress mentionend
   on the webpage admin at gromacs.org, but the mail could not be delivered
   giving containing this diagnostics from the mail system:

   Final-Recipient: rfc822; admin at gromacs.org
   Original-Recipient: rfc822;admin at gromacs.org
   Action: failed
   Status: 5.0.0
   Remote-MTA: dns; smtp1.uu.se
   Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 <admin at gromacs.org>: Recipient address
   rejected: they said 2:0:1244619800:host struktbio205.bmc.uu.se[130.238.41.205] said:
     550 <admin at gromacs.org>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in
     virtual alias table (in reply to RCPT TO command)

   Regarding the problem with GIT the error message sounds like the git daemon on
   gromacs.cbr.su.se is down. Today I tried again, as this could have
   been a temporary fail of the services, but unfortunately the services
   is not working today, too. After looking around on the webpage I
   finally got the problem:

   It seems the correct adress is git://gromacs.org/gromacs, while on the
   page:
   
   http://www.gromacs.org/Developers/Git/Gromacs_git_repository#Public_(read-only)_access
   
     git://gromacs.cbr.su.se is stated as a adress.

   The working address can finally be found in:

   http://www.gromacs.org/Developers/Git/Sample_git_commands


   As I am highly motivated and encouraged to improve GROMACS access as a
   contributor would be appreciated. Therefore I would be very thankful if
   you contact me off list as soon as the problem is solved then I try to
   send my public key and a suggestion for a user name again.
