[gmx-developers] updating GROMACS contributor lists

I also prefer current devs to be printed at least in the log, but I
feel console printing does not hurt and the -quiet flag is always
available. The list getting long pver time is not an issue with the
change if we print only current contributors as I proposed on Monday
as well as on https://gitlab.com/gromacs/gromacs/-/merge_requests/2308.

Complete removal of the contributor list from both console and log has
neither been discussed when we agreed on how to proceed on Monday nor
does it feel necessary. The intent of the changes we agreed on Monday
were mainly to restructure the acknowledgements and make sure everyone
is included not to completely change how things are displayed printed
in the log or console. I suggest such changes to be left for proposals
in a separate MR.

Cheers,

Then we could also feature a random developer on the first page of a better-looking www.gromacs.org every time you load the website.

I think it is important that people who contribute get some actual visibility instead of just having a name in a file somewhere that no one reads.

For example, docs, testing, tutorials, forum participation, workshop organization. Please check out the MR below and if you see a name missing or in the wrong place, please get in touch!
