I made some movies via PNG export in PyMOL and import of the bitmap 
sequence into the tool Videomach (videomach.com) to get an AVI file. 
But IIRC there is an MPEG movie creator integrated in PyMOL, too.
PyMOL is very fast and the output quality of the built-in renderer is 
quite excellent, the basics of the syntax is easy to learn!
A minor drawback is that its output is not as customizable as e. g. 
MOLMOL's (at least not so easily) as far as visual gimmicks are 
concerned, but this should only affect the artists among us ;-). BTW, 
one can use MOLMOL for bitmap sequence creation via scripting, too. 
But it's sluggish with large systems.
